With the barrel facing away from you (as if you were shooting the piece), drive the pin out from left to right. Re-install - right to left.
Me being picky, I always keep the pin orientated the same way it came out, so I put it back in the same way it was installed from factory.
Use the proper sized punch to drive out with a 4 oz hammer. Use a piece of wood to support the barrel.
To re-install, I use a pin holder to get the pin started, then use a proper sized cupped punch. Will have to hold the locking bolt back into it's place, as it is spring loaded. I use a popsicle stick or something similar (non marring) to hold it in place to re-install the pin.
The locking bolt has a notch cut in it. This notch has to be orientated so the pin goes through the notch upon re-install.
Clean out the locking bolt hole's with a Q-tip with some cleaner on it. I use CLP - Breakfree. May have to trim the Q-tip for it to fit all the way into the hole. Wipe the spring down and also the locking bolt itself to clean any gunk away. Lightly oil all before re-install.
After re-install, the locking bolt should move freely back and forth under it's spring tension. Should be good to go then. Good luck
