I have a friend who is thinking about selling a NIB 29-2 in the presentation case. The revolver is a blue 8 3/8ths w/TT,TH,RR,WO with tools and the shipping box that came with it. The revolver was bought new in 1979. Its in pristine 100% shape, I'm not sure but I don't think its ever even been cocked.

What is one of these going for in this condition? Thanks 308

I'm going to decline a little from Gibbs offer and put it at about $800 mainly because the long tubes are the least sought after in the collection world. The pristine condition does help the price however.

Saw one go on GB about 2 or 3 weeks ago for 1300.

At least $900. I think the long barrels are very nice. I must.......I have 5.

I would say that I don't think 8 3/8 barreled model 29-2 go for much less then the 6 inch model 29-2 at least at the gun shows I've been to. I picked up a really clean one (98%) at the Tulsa show in the spring with no box for $700 and I paid $950 for an 8 3/8 inch unfired 629 no dash with all the goodies no long after that. They maybe are the least desirable to some people but they are also the lowest number made of the barrel lengths.

Here in Northern California...

a +/- NIB long barreled 29-2 in a presentation case would run $900 and up, that is if you can find one.

The OP did not indicate location, but prices here on the west coast tend to be a bit higher than elsewhere.

Dick, I respectfully disagree. Clearly there are some long tubes that were produced in lower numbers than other barrel lengths that are highly desirable and collectable. Doug

You may disagree sir and they may sell well in your area, but down here you can't hardly give them away unless it's a Model 17.:(

I agree with diamonback68 - saw a 8 3/8 model 27 in the PC yesterday at local gun show for $550. It lasted through Saturday and was still there on Sunday.

You are probably correct relative to the 29-2s. If you find any pre 29s, 29 no dash or 29-1s let me know - I will buy every one that is available that is selling at a "give away" price.
