Picked this gun up in late August. Just got around to checking it out and giving it a good cleaning. I have been moving my collection towards guns that have been modified by various gunsmiths, some known to have done the work and others where there is no documentation.
This one has been changed to a round butt, barrel cut back to 3.375", red ramp, chamfer cylinder holes, (number), bob the hammer, polish hammer and trigger, action job and reblued.

Original owner had about $1400 into the work performed and
the work done was outstanding. When he sent the gun, he also supplied me with the original copy of the work invoice.

Here are a few pictures, the last two with my cut down, hard chrome 25-2

Very nice revolvers OP !!
About 15 years ago I had my model 65 3 inch done over at Smith with the "combat revolver package" which is still available on stainless guns for $275. It's available for blued also. Highly recommend. Check the pricing on the individual work and you will see it's a bargain. Trigger job, trigger stop, chamfer cylinder holes and bead blast. (link below).
I asked them to replace side plate screws and leave the screw heads shiny which they did. I later had the sides of the hammer and trigger polished as I liked the looks of MagnaPort custom guns.
Since then I have had my gunsmith buddy duplicate the package on other acquisitions. Also smoothed faces of triggers. Some say it ruins the collectible status. I say make it the way you want it and enjoy it. I carry and shoot my guns. I still feel they hold value or the work increases it to someone who knows what a working revolver should be (IMO).

I have a late 70s model 64. It is in ok condition. No box, original stocks were replaced with Pachmyers.

I am only into for $175. I will be sending it back early next week for the same package. I have had a few action jobs plus some minor repairs on some late 60s - mid 70s J guns. Very happy with the work. Yours looks great. I would say that this type of work on such a common gun could only enhance the value.
