I've been wanting one of these or a 629-4, 4" for a while. This 29 is nice, factory stocks in good shape, good blue, tighter than average (several cylinders don't rock at all in lock up).

$725 is more than I was looking to spend, but I don't come across these or the 629-4's very often at all. I think the shop owner would take $700 but still, I'd be more comfortable at $600-650(plus tax).

Am I being reasonable? Thanks...

In California that gun is $900+ so i think its a good price. Offere what you want, the worst he can do is say no..But always offer cash if you plan on Negotiating.

If the gun is in good shape that you're pleased with it as you indicate , how many do you see for sale in your area ? What else would you drop $50 on and not give a second thought, say dinner out for two ?

Is it something you really want, like, and plan to keep, or one of those that you think, "I wonder what it would be like to shoot one of those ?"

Some folks pay too much, some of us just buy them a little too soon.

I'd take it if I could have found one. So, went with new Classic 4". Pleasant gun to shoot with 44 Special reloads. Took that and a Python to the range last week. After shooting the 44 a few cylinders, I picked up the Python and loaded it. Those 38's, looked like 22's in the chambers compared to those large 44's.

Paid 725 for my 29-5 5" in Kansas. No box. Thought it was high but I was seeing so few revolvers at the gun shows so I bought it. No regrets.

That is not a bad price and you don't see many 29-5, 4 inch guns for sale. I have a 29-5, 6 inch and I would pay that for a 4 inch in good shape as you describe.

I just picked up last month a 29-5 with a 6" barrel. I got it for $725.00 with the box, papers, and factory wood grips and an extra set of hogue's. Bluing is excellent and lockup tight. Don't wait and lose this opportunity, these are great guns and the price you can't beat. So jump on it real quick you will have no regrets! I am in California and as was mentioned these could be as much as $900.00 here, you can't lose!

I BOUGHT IT!

Thanks to all for your opinions. I bought it for $675 plus $40 in sales tax, so $715 out the door with factory box and all the papers, no tools.
It has target stocks, RR,WO,TT,TH.

Anyone have it's age? Serial #BJJ10xx
