Picked up a 29-5 with a 4" Mag-na-ported barrel on gunbroker about 10 years ago (no box). Came with rubber Houge grips - not sure if they are original.

Has anyone else seen this configuration?

I had a 29-2, 4" with Magna ported barrel. It sure seemed to help with recoil and muzzle rise. Bob

If you dislike Iike really tedious cleaning you should avoid lead bullet ammo. The lead fouling is a PITA to clean from the ports; beyond that, just a few shots will cover your red ramp with grey.

I had a 4" 29-3 that was 98% but cheaper than non-ported models in similar condition.

Do NOT fire that rascal without really good hearing protection.

I know people get all excited about the perceived pitfalls of magna-porting but I’d buy that gun in a NY minute if the price was reasonable, and I shoot lead almost exclusively. That’s a nice find, as far as I’m concerned.

As I recall it I picked it up at at what seemed to be a good price - around $700 delivered on gunbroker.

I was mostly interested it as it has the strength enhancements and 4" barrel.
