I have 29-6 blued with a full under lug 5” barrel. Haven’t seen one like it before, is this particularly rare?
Thanks

They are not the rarest of the rare but, I think the 29-6 5" Classic was only in production for a year. 1993 I think but, don't quote me on that. They are great shooters.

New to the forum and also have a new to me 29-6 but in a 6” barrel with the partial under lug. I’m looking forward to getting it to the range. Are you shooting magnum loads or 44 specials out of yours?

Welcome to the FORUM! I have a 29-3, 6" from 1988. I have found that the best loads for me so far are hand loaded heavy .44 Special rounds loaded in magnum cases. Peppy, but not punishing. Bob

Oh...these are my favorites. I have 2 a 6'' partial lug and a 5'' just like yours. I think the factory did excellent quality here. Mine have deep flawless blue jobs and they have very accurately cut cylinder throats measuring 0.429 able to shoot modern jacketed ammo into the same hole. Mine are both among the most accurate smiths I have. I have a 29-5 done a year earlier and it has 0.432 throats and shoots well only with suitable lead boolits. Anyway...great find. Top of the line.

I’ve been shooting the heck out of mine since I got it a couple of months ago. It is one of my favorite .44’s now.

High mark of N frames IMO, the 29-5 and -6 and 629-3 and -4.

The 5" classic is special in both blue and stainless. The blue was made in less quantities so it is more desirable.

I possess both stainless and blue versions of the classic in 5" as well as a 629 DX 5" version.

Love the 1990's-era 5" Classics. My 29-6 Classic is 6.5", but I scored 5" full-lug 629-3 .44 Magnum and 625-5 .45 Colt a few years ago. Really want to add a blue 29 5".
