Here's one for the braintrust. I have a 669. I recently purchased a 15rd mag from a 659 to use. I took it to the range and am 99% sure I loaded it to capacity and reloaded it twice and everything went great. I took it home and replaced the 15 fmj's with 15 jhp's to use as my backup mag. Well doing a function check the mag seemed to scrape the magwell and bind upon insertion. It did not lock without some force and ejecting it is a pain. So I unloaded it and tried the fmj's again and same thing. So I pop 1 round out and it works great as far as insertion (afraid to try and manually feed it). So the questions are- Was this mag screwed from the git go and somehow I miscounted twice at the range.
Did something on the mag bend (feed lips etc...) Allowing too many rounds to the top of the mag making it too big on top when full and is this fixable?
Or is the mag spring trashed and I need to buy a new one.
Or suck it up cause 14 rds is better than 10
Untill I figure this out I will carry one of my 10 rd mags as backup to the 12+1 I keep in the gun. 10 I know will feed is more comforting than 15 that might not.
