Having only had interest in 29's, 629's, 686's, and lightweight J frames, the more I read here, the more I see models that I did not know existed. I am thinking about a 3 inch steel frame 38 fixed sight gun, but adjustable would be OK too. Current manufacture shows nothing but a model 60 in .357, but a 357 is also an option, preferably stainless. What models fill the bill? Are 2-1/2 66's under 30 ounces? That might work. Any suggestions are welcome.

Find you a nice Model 13 with a three inch barrel and round butt. It's stainless counterpart is a Model 65. .357 Magnum, three inch bull barrel and fixed sights. Non shrouded ejector and a round butt for concealment. What's not to like?

+ 10

The 3" bull barrel 13, 65 is often called the ultimate CCW wheel gun for good reason. I have both but chose to carry a 3" model 10-8 or my 2" 64-4 snub because I prefer the Speer GD 38 +P 135GR. GDHP load in each. Along with a couple of speed strip reloads in my pocket, I feel comfortable.

PS....Don't rule out the 3" model 64. Nice gun as well.

I have one of each. You can't go wrong with a 3" K frame.

As others have said - a model 13 or 65 will answer your needs. I like the full shroud of the Lady Smith model 65...

Great gun!

Good luck,

S&W 66-3, 3". Ported, triljon sights and the works from the performance center. 1 of 300. Nice, but not too available.
