3” K Frames

3 inch is the PERFECT carry K frame size in my book Only have one, a Model 64 DAO that I had built from an old police trade in with a 4 inch barrel. Found a 3 " and had my local guy make the switch. Carry it in a Milt Sparks Executive Special IWB.

When I caught the 3 inch K Bug it was a severe case. So far no cure.......

........in sight but these examples have eased the pain.

In favorite order,

Model 64 turned out by Vic Tibbets while working at Wilson in the late 90s, ( he's back). Wearing a set of vintage ivory magnas.

Model 10 special order for Brazil. Very unique in that it has an enclosed ejector rod housing.

Model 13 scarce product from the Performance Center

Model 10-5 worked over by a great young custom Smith out of Joplin,Mo., Dustin Housel. Among other features he hand checkered the backstrap, magnificent job.

Model 65 Ladysmith stock but pert near 3inch perfection.

And waiting in the wings an as NIB model 64 waiting its turn at the hands of another artist in steel.

If I only had more hands.

I have a thing for three inch revolvers, own something like a dozen. As far as Smiths are concerned I have SB Model 10 from the sixties, a RB 64 and and RB 65, plus a three inch SB 36.

I like the 3" barrels too. Now 5 K frame 3"ers plus an M37 no dash, 30-1, 317 and a 386 3.2" MountainLite.

They're like crack to me.

Current count is three (2 64s & a 65).

I'd love to add a Model 13.

3" K-frames

Some think that they are a bit over-rated...... :)

Truth in advertising, there are a couple L frames in this pic, they wanted to be part of the "in-crowd"....

:D

Jeez, and I thought I had an impulse purchase problem…

Thanks for putting my problem in perspective!

I do have several 3" J frames and one 3.2" L frame, but nothing like your collection.

Hey wait a minute SmithNut…. That picture is a 2004 copyright, surely they have procreated a bit since then!

I have the love for the best handling combat revolvers ever made. My shiney sisters, M10-8 with Hogues, and M13-3 sporting Culina Walnut. "Reasonably priced", is something I don't see anymore when looking at 3" K-frames.

Here's my little 65-3. Tagged at $299 in local honey hole a couple years ago.

This how it looked when it came home with the other two. The most expensive gun in the bunch was the 19-7, which was a whopping $499. That my fiends, was a good day :)
