.32-20 Hand Ejector

Stopped at one of my "favorite" gun shops the other day. Everyone seems to be enamored with buying polymer frame steel slide striker fired pistols; leaving the "old fashioned wheel guns" alone. That works for me!

There was this lonely orphan sitting in one of the cases that begged me to rescue it and bring it home! Although in spots it looks like its been buffed over pitting in other spots it looks like an original finish.

Here's my new to me, first gun I own chambered in .32-20, five screw, 6" barreled hand ejector:

Nice shape, although indeed refinished, as suggested by the blued hammer and trigger.

Nice shape, decent reblue. Many times on a reblue you get a purplish hue. I have a Model 370 Win. that a gunsmith reblued and the receiver is reddish-purple.
Are you going to shoot it? I have a bunch of 32 WCFs and find it to be a fun cartridge to work with. If you need any brass let me know and I will send you some. I don't reload anymore.

Looks a lot like my Model of 1905 4th Change in .32-20 that I rescued off of GB. Mine is s/n 118705, mid-1920's. What is the s/n of yours (bottom of grip frame)? A few of the Forum members may suggest you check your barrel to see if it is "bulged". Apparently that was an issue with .32-20s back in the day. You should be able to find some relatively mild .32-20 Cowboy Action ammo online, and it's a blast to shoot. Enjoy!

Nice guns and if you get a K22 cylinder and have it reamed to 32 S&W long you have a real handy dandy.

Yes, the 32/20s are fun to shoot. I have one that was given to me by a friend. The serial number is 56551 and from what we can tell, it was manufactured in 1912 or 13. It has obviously been re-blued and the trigger and hammer plated. The horn grips are plastic but look pretty good. Anyway, I reload for it and enjoy shooting it once in a while.

I'm glad that you rescued that treasure from among the plastic bottom feeders!

Super fun revolvers to shoot. Mine is fond of cast bullets, particularly the 115 grain RNFP Lyman design. At 800 fps, it is perfectly zeroed at 25 yards with this load.

Nice save. Always good to see an old Smith find a home with somene who appreciates them. My 32-20, serial #129xxx, shipped in 1925.
