Just got my Model 16-4 and need to load some ammo for it. Shooting 100gr plated bullets at targets only. My brass is 32 long. I've been using Titegroup lately. Would anyone suggest a target load please? Thanks

Target Loads

I have just got some plated wadcutters from Berrys bullets
They are 83 gr HBWC and cost $80.00 a thousand shipped.
I have not loaded for longs yet , but they work great in my
Smith 16-4 in H&R Mags.
The plated bullets are hard to find data for, but you need increase very slightly over lead of same weight.
Like in 148gr lead for 38 Special I use 2.8 Bullseye with plated I use
3.0 grains.
I like Bullseye or American Select for target wadcutter loads, AS is really clean at low pressures.

When I used a Pardini HP in 32 S&W Long for the bullseye centerfire stage I loaded 1.5 gr. WST behind the Speer 98 gr LWC - bullet seated flush with case mouth.

.32 S&W loads

I've shot a lot of these with my M16 6-inch. These loads are for up to 25 yd/meters. 50 yard accuracy requires a bit more effort and experimentation.

1.3 gr. VV310 with a 90 gr. HBWC
1.5 - 1.7 gr. WST with a 98gr. HBWC
1.5-1.7 gr. bullseye with a 95 gr. WC
1.7 gr. W231 with a 98gr. WC
1.4 gr. bullseye with a 85gr. HBWC

Bullets that work for me are the swaged Speer 98 gr HBWC, the H&N and the cast Magnus. Can't get the Hornady to group consistently. Good luck.

.32 powder measure

hey guys..what do you use to meter the small .32 charges..like 1.4-1.7 bullseye..Thanks for any thoughts..Mark

Try 2.5 gr Red Dot with a 90-100 gr cast or plated bullet. It works great in my Pre-31.

I use a Lee PPM. Mine is very consistent.
