I have a Smith & Wesson .32 Long Revolver blue finish with a 3.25" barrel that was manufactured in 1913, known as the Hand Ejector Model of 1903 Fifth Change. The information that I received from the Smith & Wesson Historian is that my pistol was produced until 1917 with the serial numbers reaching 263000. Accordingly, Smith & Wesson manufactured 160,499 of these revolvers between 1910 and 1917, an average of nearly 23,000 per year. If your pistol is a modified continuation of that series, and sales and production were comparatively consistent, it might be older than you think. The only way to find out for sure is to send an inquiry to Smith & Wesson. They have a form on their website with instructions.
