I recently acquired a 2" model 30 and have been loading .32 S&W long loads using a 90 grain Hornady lead bullet and Bullseye. While digging through my junk drawer I found an old box of new cases in .32 S&W. Just for grins, I decided to load these with the 90 grain bullets I have on hand. Finding reloading data for this old round is difficult. Any ideas out there. Not interested in anything very warm.

1.4 WW 231 per Hodgdon.com. WW use to publish loads in an annual booklet. I loaded this load in top break revolvers and it was fine, your model 30 will be safe! Ivan

I have an old Iver Johnson top break in .32 Short. It was my great uncle's gun. Back in 1967, when I got it, it came with a box of factory ammo. I fired it a few times, but the most memorable was when I was hiking on the farm one day and saw a ground hog. Shot at it. I swear I could see the bullet loop out there. It hit the ground in front of the ground hog, bounced up and hit him in the chest. Really pissed him off and he gave me a real dirty look and then ran off. The bullet was sitting on the ground!

I would like to reload for it but the cylinder stop is so worn that it won't stop the cylinder. So it just sits in the safe.

There is one of those in our safe. Grandpa bought it for Grandma used from a LEO in the late 30's or early 40's. I shot it in the 70's (ammo was around). I've told people the only thing it would do if you had to shoot somebody is piss them off! Yup , it's a wore out old family heirloom...
