.327 magnum, still on my mind

I just purchased a Henry Big Boy in 327 magnum and am having problems with elevation, I have to aim a foot low to hit paper at 50 yards. They are sending me a new front sight that is shorter. I will keep you posted.
Now for the revolvers, Ruger is the king of the 327's.

Both -4's are .32 mag but top has been reamed to .327 mag. While the K is ideal for both rounds, we're forced to make our own.
IMO, the only improvement would be a longer barrel to utilize more of the .327's potential.

For those that have not fired a .327 Federal magnum, I'd like to add a word of caution.
I like .32s and have seven of them. Two .32 S&WL, two .32 H&R and three in .327 Fed. They are all fun to shoot. However, for shooting full .327 mag loads, the only one that's comfortable (for me) is the 8 shot, 5&1/2 inch, SS, Blackhawk (produced by Ruger from 2010 to 2013). The lighter Ruger SP101 is tolerable, but the Ruger LCR is downright painful.
To be clear, I will add that I no longer find full house .41 and .44 magnum loads comfortable anymore either, so YMMV.

I mentioned the Henry rifle. It is the same size as the 357 and nearly as big as the 45-70. I have a marlin cowboy in 32 magnum that I converted to 327 and it compares like a race horse to a plow horse.
For a while USFA was make their SAA in 32-20 and 327 magnum. That is when my collection exploded.
I recently got the s&w 632-1 and 632-2 and they complete my 327 quest. Now I wish S&W would make a k-frame in this caliber.

I was checking out a 327 Federal LCR at the LGS today... Six shots in the same package is awful tempting.

I always sight rifles in at 100yds benchrested.

I did try to zero at 100 yards off of a bench rest. I knew I was having problems when we started to watch the dirt backstop to see where the bullet was hitting!

I suspect S&W's attitude is a bit like the Colt vs S&W caliber wars in the late 1800s / early 1900s. S&W doesn't see any value in offering a caliber created by a competitor, especially because it is kind of a niche caliber.

Frankly, I think S&W is done with new revolver development. They are going to maintain their historic lines and spend money developing autos. However, I'll add I think that attitude is a misstep in an era where retirees (in Florida, at least) are getting licensed and buying CCW at a increasing rate and a 327 revolver is absolutely perfect for them.

I don't really mind because I like the LCR at least as much as any of my j frames. I'm right now tossing a coin about buying a LCRx 327 because I found them for about $50 off online...

I definitely prefer my j frames for pocket carry. Just a bit smaller.

IMHO the LCR and LCRx have different trigger pulls. It seems to me that the LCRx has a little hitch at the end. It looks as if it is due to the transfer bar safety. I am pretty sure the LCR has a transfer Bar safety as well, but the pull is better. At least that is how it seems to me on the ones I own.
