so I just got my extended firing pin from TK custom, installed it and cleaned up the interior of the gun while I was in there. put 7 empty rounds in it to test the impact. I found out that the firing pin impact on the J-frame .22 impacts the case on the opposite side of the case as in my 617-?. Im thinking that the pin was not extending out of the frame but what was happening was that the impact was in the same spot as where I put because I thought the impact was on the outer side of the cylinder. lesson learned. I will report on its performance once I hit the range and compare light strikes.

My grandmothers 351C has not had a single light strike with the factory firing pin. In fact I've never heard of any rim fire smith having such an issue. Aren't you worried that that you could split or pierce the rim?

I have a new 648 that has light strike problems, even after a return to S&W (it is better but still an issue). I have thought about the extended pin. Looking forward to a report.
