Ive been on midways wait list for about a month for some backordered starline brass (not nickle just standard). Does anyone recomend some other brass over starline, they have every other brand in stock.

thanks

Order from Starline direct. Most of the time when they post a back order date you still get it before then.

Need to add another option such as other or doesn't matter. So I didn't pick one.

I load pretty much every caliber and of all the mentioned ones they are all fine. I have mixed head stamps of every brand.

On a benchrest site I was looking at. Hornady brass was rated almost as good as Lapua at half the price.

I don not think you can go wrong with any of them.

About a month ago at a gun show a guy had two bags of Starline 357 brass for sale. He said $10 a bag. While he was fumbling trying to find change for a $20 I woke up and took both bags. I was sure it was only 50 per bag, because $20 per hundred was what everyone else wanted. Couldn't wait to get home and check. Sure enough, 100 per bag, brand new brass. I sized and primed immediately so he couldn't come and get them back!!

I just checked starlines website and the 357 mag primer is on backorder till 2/15. However it is only $114 not midways $140 per 1000 so I think I will order it there thanks for the sugestion.

Use them all....it simply doesn't matter in any of my herd. Probably won't for you either.

I've used Starline, Magtech, and Remington. All have worked, but Remington brass is so thin I like the others better.

I don't shoot as much .357 as other stuff, so I don't have many loadings on any of my brass. So far the only problem is the nickle plated remington, which had the case mouths crack.

Starline is my favorite, Winchester an equal substitute, Magtech I'd use in a pinch if nothing else were available, if Remington was the only thing available and even for free, I'd do without.

1000 ??. Plan on doing a lot of shooting?:) That's a lot of brass.

I never buy any reloading equipment, components or ammo from Midway. I have been a long time customer but their prices on ammo and components is ridiculous.(JMO) They are a good company and have excellent service and shipping for the stuff no one else has.

hey OCD1, im kinda ocd my self. Im one of those ammo stockpile kinda guys. 357 is my mainstay for a defensive situation and I like to have 500 rounds of defensive ammo ready. I do shoot alought, i run through a few thosand rounds a year.

Ps; I orderd that brass from starline, its a good price.

I have no idea which is "best", but I have used Remington brass for years and have had very good results with it. Long lasting and consistent.

I also have used all of the brands listed and can't see enough difference to worry about. Just load it and shoot it.

I'm with OCD who Erich is with and that is mighty good company in my book!

The other option, and I don't mean to detract from your poll, that I would have put on there is "Doesn't matter as long as they are free!"

That would have been the one I checked! ;)

Came home from the range the other night with a baggie full of 357Mag range brass. Probably most of it was fired in someone's snubbie and is only once fired. 'Course, you never know for sure unless you are the one that fired it first! :D

If it aint got any splits, and it holds powder and primers properly, I use it.;)

I prefer Starline over all others, but I have had great success with Winchester, Federal, and Mag Tec over the years. Remington has been a lot more hit and miss with durability.
I have never been one to use a lot of light loads unless the gun required it (like my old Triple Lock), so my brass gets worked out pretty thoroughly, and most of makes last a darn long time even with top end loads these days.

The least favorite I have is Starline (not counting some of the real junk brass). I get way too many splits with Starline and I don't mean case mouths. I would just as soon have Remington as any, except maybe Super Vel. ;)

I have and use Winchester, Starline, and Remington- they all work fine, but when I'm buying and can get it, I prefer the Remington. At least up until the last shortage, Remington had always been the stoutest of these three. It's possible they're making the cases thinner now- I won't know for a couple years.

Good morning
Go to Starline websight and order a batch. You will save a bunch of $ and then sell of the unneeded quantity... But from experience keep it all and segregate brass to revolvers.
