I wish S & W would build and be AVAILABLE .357's in SS , Blued and Nickle with barrels from 1.875" to 8 3/8" in 5,6,7 and 8 shot. They need to bring back some of the good old models such as the 65LS and many others. The engineering and designs are already done.

With or without internal locks optional. I'll just never be an auto guy,not opposed to them I just much prefer revolvers...

My .02 cents

S & W SS Revolvers

Agreed - nothing like a SS, square butt, goncalo alves wooden grip classic 686 S&W revolver ... Wow. Be nice if they could make a limited run of new ones at least ... Wonder why S&W went to round from square in the first place?
Some auto's are ok I guess (Smith .40cal and Kimber come to mind), but i agree much prefer a nice revolver ...
Hey Smith, what do you say? Make a limited run of "Classic" revolvers?

If they didn't want to flood the market with a host of pistols ready-made with a bunch of different barrel lengths, at least it would be nice if you could order what you want from the Performance Center. Kind of like when the Registered Magnum was first introduced, but with standard barrel lengths of 3.5 - 4", 5" 6.5" and 8.375" and finished to either deep blue or nickel. I would definitely pay a premium of $300-400 to be able to order a pistol customized the way I want it as to barrel length and finish.

I don't see how that would cost them that much more to do than present as they can have the frames in stock and just install the barrel on at the time of placing the order.

Oh, and they can also lose the IL too! :D

Well said muddocktor ... just wonder how many customers might want to purchase a Stainless Steel, Goncalo Alves S&W revolver? Those guns are going for a premium on the USED market, even though theyre 25+ years old. I know I just bought one ... imagine even if Smith did a limited run of them what the demand might be ....

I bet your right Old Bear ... you'd think they'd sell some pretty quick if they made a limited run of new ones ...

Unfortunately, I doubt they'll ever sell revolvers without locks.

Unfortunately, I doubt they'll ever sell revolvers without locks.

I just picked up a brand NEW S&W 642CT "NO-Lock" last week. No-lock versions sell because the internal-lock versions have a proven tendency to fail by locking up the revolver after the first shot. Not for me, for sure!
