Slugged an old 1950s colt police positive for a pal, no idea how it shoots but was ver clean overall.

Slugged the bore, clean/crisp rifling, no lead. Slugs at .349/352 for the lands/grooves

Slugged one cyl. throat, came out at .359

New to slugging and checking this way- are those numbers normal and do they sound right?

The slug that was passed through the bore there were no tight spots or hang ups, and when done we dropped it through each cyl. throat and it fell right through.

Thanks for any help gents!

Colts typically run .354-.356" I would question the .352 measurement. The throat measurement is consistent as Lead bullet factory ammunition typically runs .358-.359". If the throats were smaller a lot of factory ammunition would not chamber.
