Yep..... You are experiencing what could very well become "seller's remorse".....SAVE YOURSELF before it's too late !..... You have "Marilyn Monroe" and I have "Phyliss Diller"
The I/J grips fit this gun just right don't they? They never looked right on a snubbie but with the 3" heavy barrel they look just right I think.

Never got into the square butt 36-1s I got as replacements (I like round butts and I cannot lie) but this 36-1 is my most missed revolver
I got it in the box, looked unfired at the time, I think I traded an SKS for it back when those prices were reasonable. Probably went towards a tuition payment, but man it was the sweetest shooting J frame I've ever owned. If you don't need to sell yours, don't.

Yep, I know that's kind of drastic, but that is a really great combination and it would be very difficult to replace (if not darn-near impossible) when the inevitable "seller's remorse" sets in!!!

This is a strange thread for me. I have a 36-1 square-butt with S&W target stocks. It’s not prissy, but very nice. I never shoot it. I was looking at it the other day and thought about putting it up for sale… then lost interest in the idea. Couldn’t have been more than 3-4 days ago. I always think, if you’re even a little bit on the fence, it’s best to do nothing. Wisdom or laziness?

Wisdom! Don't sell unless you hate it! And even then, just put it in the back of the safe for a while.... you might just change your mind.
A little personal note: since I got back into "hoarding guns" (Wife's term but she has a few of her own) in 2011 or 12, I have sold 1 S&W, traded 2 for other guns and gifted 3 Tauruses to family members. That's it. I just can't bring myself to sell any without getting another, and when it comes right down to it I prefer what I already have. I tend to get shooters in very good to excellent condition and occasionally a NIB if the price is right. I actually have one of those 36-1's, a mid 1970's RB in excellent condition, and I wouldn't sell it. Period.
Hey, hobbies are supposed to be FUN! You shouldn't let "should I or shouldn't I" dilemmas get in your way. Good luck!
If you were to sell it, what price would you put on that beauty? Once it has sold what would you do with the money? Would the money spent bring something new to you that you would enjoy as much or more than the 36-1?

Very sentimental to me. My first Smith was a 36-1, three inch just like the O.P.'s. I gave it to my daughter just last year to have a gun to protect herself when all the rioting was happening. She had the antifa across the road from her house and it was getting a little spooky. I really miss the revolver, but it is in good hands, and I can't take them all with me. The wife said she would write me a check for the guns and put it into my casket!

To be totally honest this picture was a huge lesson in outdoor light versus indoor light. It looks like 100% ANIB in outdoor light in the pics I took yesterday. Inside under inspection lights, more like a 7/8ish before the beer goggles

A very wise young lady once told me, “You can’t have it all, Mr S..... if you did, where would you put it?” You have to ask yourself whether the gun or the money it brings will mean more to you in six months or a year. Do you need the money? Is there a good place (or use) for the gun? I’ve found myself thinking about where my guns will go after I’m gone, and whether I’d rather have the money or the guns and responsibility of having them. I have to answer for me and you have to answer for you.

If you are selling it to get something you really want ,that would be harder to find again than this would be to replace, ok.
