38 Double Action 3rd Model identification

Please can anybody help me with the identification of the year of production of my
Smith & Wesson .38 Double Action 3rd Model. Nr. 175478. According production number I guess that it was produced about 1887 but I am not sure.

I know that it is possible to ask for "factory letter". But I use this way because I live in the Czech Republic, therefore this procedure is too complicated for me

I have a DA 38 with the numbers starting with 28XXX. Look down almost to the bottom and you will find answers to my inquire. The gun was manufactured from 1884 thru 1895. the starting numbers were 11xxxx and ended with 32xxxx. I am sure some one will come and give you more help. All I know is in the post. DA 38 hopes this helps you.

I have one with S/N 3134XX, which Roy has dated to April 1893. Yours is much earlier, my guess around 1888.
