Last time I loaded Bullseye behind a 158 grain SWC I used 3.5 grains with predictably good results.

3.5 here also. If it won't shoot with that I send it down the road.

Dennis.

For years the max standard pressure loading was 3.7 grains of bullseye with 158 swc or rnl. This load will produce about 725 from 2 inch S&W. I found 231 gives me more velocity than bullseye.

I think 3.5 grains of Bullseye is the chocolate ice cream of loads for this bullet. Guns are like kids. They have have their own individual likes and dislikes, but I don't know a single kid who doesn't like chocolate ice cream.

4.5grs W231 for standard velocity and 4.7grs for +P. Using Winchester cases and primers these 2 loads duplicate factory load ballistics.
