14-2 4" Three T (third T added later)

I can't think of a way to improve on this timeless design.
(OK, remove the Tyler T for you hardcore purists!) :)

Smooth action, natural in the hand, inexpensive, and shoots like a little rifle.

Not a Dayton gun, so what is it?

Can't argue much with that. Nice lookin' six gun.

I kinda favor the 6" barrel cuz we have to shoot so far outchere in Wyoming and that longer barrel gits the bullet a leetle closer to the target before the wind hits it.

We don't have much wind in the nightstand. ;)

With the third "T" now.

An especially useful feature when you are trying to drop a running Jackalope :)

14's are only pinned as only the magnums and the 22LR are recessed.

A K-38 Masterpiece masquerading as a Combat Masterpiece? Maybe a letter will tell you it shipped on Halloween - and this was its costume . . .

(Sorry. In a weird mood today!)

There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to it. Every once in a while S&W would put out some 4" Model 14s. Some were special order and others just appear outta nowhere.
I have one with a 1Kxxxx serial number that lettered as being shipped in 1971 to Dave's House of Guns in Dallas, Texas.
We had a long thread about 4" 14s a few years ago where several of us who own one compared notes. I think mine may have been a over run from a group sold to Olympic Gun Disributors at about the same time. However, there's no way to prove it.
Just accept the fact that 4" Model 14s just happen and enjoy.;)

The 14-2 would normally would have the straight wall barrel of the K38 to match the frame corners. This has the tapered barrel of the Combat Masterpiece that does not match the corners. As you know, the Combat Masterpiece had beveled corners to match the tapered barrel. Thus, my vote is that someone put a CM tapered barrel on a K38. I would be surprised if it would letter as a four inch. Anything is possible, however. :)

Considering how little I paid for it, I sure won't be paying the fee for a letter.

looks like a Model 15 to me.....the old timers knew what they were doing on the Combat Masterpiece...getting hard to find not that many at the gunshows I see.

Would be kinda cool to know who made the barrel swap and why.

Someone spent some time and money to modify it.
