Hi,
I have joined the ranks of 'lemon squeezer' ownership as of the last gun show ...
Just for my own information, I would like to get an approximate year of Mfg on mine ... The serial Number is 6 digits ... no alpha characters ... 225xxx
I will include a couple pics if I am able...
Thanx in advance for your info...
BTW, I included pics of the damaged grip ... I would like to know if grips are available for this pistol (pretty much like the original, of course ...)
Thanx again
Allan

You have a .38 Safety Hammerless New Departure 4th model if it's a pinned front sight. If the sight is forged with the barrel, you have a 5th model. Probably shipped about 1910. Check eBay for replacement grips, or repo grips are available online from various companies. Ed.

Those stocks are quite easy to repair if you have some basic repair skills. Take 2 part epoxy and a very small amount of oil based black paint, then mix together and start rebuilding the missing section. You can build a dam with tape to keep the glue in place while it sets. Over build the shape with additional applications of epoxy, enough so you can sand down the excess to shape, use increasingly finer grades, then buff to a shine matching the rest of the stock. Re-drill the locating pin hole and you should be good to go.
