39-2 date of shipment

Hello All,

Can anyone determine the date of shipment on a 39-2
Ser. No. A698559? Was a police trade in and had it
awhile now

Thanks for the info. Sorry, don't have pics. Its a great pistol,
carried a lot but not used much. Seems like its just breaking in
now.

IMO,the 39-2 is a great shooter.

The accuracy of the couple I have owned rivals that of some target guns.

The 39-2 usually has a very smooth trigger pull.

You can improve it by adding a fully adjustable rear sight that was a S&W factory accessory.The normal rear sight is only adjustable for windage but the optional one also has elevation adjustment.

WOW Stakeout, never knew these existed. Gives me something
to look for. Would have been nice if these were standard eouip-
ment in the Model 39 heyday.

Not to mention the adjustable rear also gives another 1/2 inch or so of sight radius.
