I picked up a 3913 a few months back. Its in very nice shape and has seen very few rounds. I've only run 2 mags through it and is worked flawlessly. Here's my question. If i insert 8 rounds into the magazine, then load one in the chamber, at that point if i try to drop the mag out i have to yank it out a little and another round is half coming out of he mag. Sometimes the round falls out when i pull out the mag. Any thoughts?

From my experience, that's pretty much normal. I've never worried about it, but maybe someone will come along and explain that I should. Anyway, I've had that with all of my 3rd generation compacts, including my CS9, 3913, and 3914NL.

I know I didn't have to list them, but I like writing that I have a CS9, 3913, and 3914NL. ;) Great guns all.

Put the bullet back in the mag.
Top it off,reinsert mag and you're G.T.G.

LOL!! :D

I WISH I had a CS9 and a 3914NL.....

It happens with my 3913 also. I believe it is the shell being dragged forward by the slide, in eager anticipation of being next!!

Never caused an issue with mine, in fact I've never heard of any issue being caused ever by anyone.

Either the 3913 is a mystic never-fail gun or we that own them have un un-written pact to never tell anyone if anything ever goes wrong with our 3913.... :D

I didn't start out to have so many. Really. No, really.

It all started a couple of years ago when my daughter started to express an interest in shooting.

I had a 6906, which she liked, but was a bit heavy.

Then I bought a 3914NL, which she liked, but it didn't have a right side mounted decocker. She's a lefty.

Then I got a CS9, because it was small and easy to conceal. But again, it didn't have a right side decocker.

Earlier this year I found a 3913 and she likes it, but it's a bit heavy. I don't know that she'll ever concealed carry, but that's an option I'd like her to have.

So, now I'm looking for a 3953, but with no luck. Then this 3913TSW shows up.

I think I have to stop using my daughter as an excuse and admit I have an addiction to S&W 3rd generation semis.

Gary, I have to say this, my 3913nl and my 6906 are the same weight if I only put 8 rds in the 06. My kids are gone so I just ignore the wife and her gun complaints.

My wife's only complaint about guns is that I seem to have a lot of them. She asks me why I need so many and I ask her why she needs so many bracelets and necklaces. ;)

My son is married and has a son of his own. He called me tonight to ask some "gun questions". He lives in Alabama and the atmosphere and attitude to guns is different. He and my daughter in law are both taking a gun safety class and then will get their CCW permits.

One of my daughter in law's friends always carries a hand gun in her purse and I think that is where she is headed as well. They both take protection of themselves and their son very seriously.

As my son said this evening, "Everyone down here has a gun."

At this point my daughter is more interested in target shooting than anything else, but at some point I hope that will change.

Sorry for the thread drift.

They're like potato chips. You can't have just one! (3953, 6906, 6946, 5903 for me).

No, I can't. 5906, 6906, 3914NL, CS9, 3904, 3913, and 457.

I specifically blame this forum for the 3904. Never even heard of it before coming here, heard about it, and couple of days later one popped up at a ridiculously cheap price. The 3913 too, because why would I need that and a 3914NL? Why? Because I saw so many posts about it and once I realized that there were ever so slight differences between the two, I had to have one.

Now people are talking about the 3953/54 and I find a myself wanting one.

What are you people doing to me?

Gary, we need to start trash talking the third gens. Somehow we need to reduce the demand so we can get a deal now and again.

I still only have one third gen and am desperately searching for more. The 3913TSW pre-rail, 4513, 4013 (love the 13's ;) ) and then I'd like to get some double stacks. I'm not so interested in DA only guns...... At least not yet.... :D

My wife loves the little Pistols. I bought her a Baby Browning 2 weeks ago and a Colt 380 Mustang pocket lite last week for her birthday.
I am good for at least 6 months without 1 questions being asked! It's our addiction and we enable each other! It gets pricey with no one stopping the other. She has a sig p238, SW 2213, Ruger SR9C, Beretta Bobcat .22,
Baby Browning .25, Bersa Thunder 380, Ruger Mark III .22, and now the C Colt 380. I figure she gets about 1 for every one of my 2. That seems to keep us both happy. There are also a couple of hers that I don't mind having in the safe myself! She likes the CS9, 3913 too but those are mine. She likes to carry the 380s.

I agree. I already see prices going up as people are starting to realize what great handguns they are. Since most of them can't be imported into MA, they are even more scarce and pricey here than in most other places.

Overall that's probably to my benefit or I'd be buying more of them than I can afford.

I'm doing that now, only in slow motion! ;)

Both my 3913 and 6904 will strip off the top round in the mag upon removal most of the time...so does my PPK/S...so do alot of autos. The only autos I have that don't do it are the 1911's...at least not that I can recall. Nothing I worry about.:)

The top round in my 3913 full mags are always tight and very difficult to push forward and out by hand. They seem to drag on the round underneath and also the top lips on the mag. This is more noticeable to me with the defense ammo (I use Gold Dot).

This top round drag is probably what is pulling the second round forward a bit after chambering the first round. I do worry about the first round feeding fully when I rack the slide, but it seems to strip from the mag and chamber fine. I may polish the inside of the mag lips some to see if it helps.

I've had the same problems with a SIG P225, sig pro 2340, and Walther P1. And all of them feed just fine.
I've never been one to top off the mag myself, as I've seen P7s kinda "upchuck" when you do it with them. Dale
