With all the 3913 threads lately you guys are probably jaded about them....but...here is another one. I got it in today from a GB auction. I carry my 6906 a lot in the summer and it gets a bit cumbersome due to the thickness. The difference in concealibility is drastic, more than I expected. The odd slope of the dust cover takes some getting used to appearance wise, but it's different...I have 7 other 3rd gens and they all start to look the same sometimes.

Nice!

I could care less how many 3913 threads there are running. The 3913NL is my most favored gun. I got mine for $350 with 10 mags. I went to the hogue grips, and regret um. Going back to the Greys. I just picked up a set of Mepro Night sights for $30. I have resprung the entire gun with Wolffe springs, light pull both double and single action, still perfect for carry, got rid of the slight rachetig feel I had in double action.

I replaced the black hammer with a matte silver with the serrations in the top, still bobbed. Barrel has been polished and a new bushing was custom machined and matched to the barrel. It is averaging a inch from the rest at 25yds for 9 shots slow fired. Free hand I am getting around 2" tight and alot of the 9 shots are touching. It is my most accurate semi auto, bar none.

I carry Glock on duty, and my 3913 off duty. I get so many comments/compliments on it. Some of my co workers have asked why I would go with an older single stack design, over a Glock or other hicap. then I produce the target, I keep in my car. 27 rnds in the X ring of a B-27 in one ragged hole usually is explanation enough.

My only complaint is it tends to get dirty quickly, and I notice groups open up between the 60-75rnds mark like I may start getting flyers into the 9 or 8 ring. Never have seen a change in my glock's POI even after 1000+rnds in a three day class without cleaning. It might just be me, but the others that have shot it both when clean and then later dirty have noticed the groups open up by an inch or so.

I have a second 3913NL skillfully engraved over 90% of the gun that I got for $400, never shot, strictly a display.

Enjoy the 3913NL, they are getting hard to find.

I had a 3913. great gun, but I sold it for a 6906. The only real difference is the thickness of the grip, and that is outside the waistband, so I don't really feel a big difference. It is a bit heavier, but that's why I got it. More bullets is a good thing. If I want a lighter gun, I'll get a slim polymer like a Kahr or something.

Nice looking gun, I also got a 3913NL recently. It is a great little gun. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. I did not care for the grey grips or the hogue, so I ordered a new set of black ones from S&W. Now for the fun, finding a holster.:)

Never too many 3913 threads ;)

I have an early production 3913 that is my most carried handgun.
I would like to find an NL as the sloping dust cover appeals to me.

Nice 3913! Enjoy yours! Regards 18DAI.

Thanks for the replies. I went and fired it earlier and it groups amazingly well. After 50 rnds 115FMJ I put a few mags of Powr'Ball+P through it, which is going to be my carry round. Dam that stuff is loaded hot, you can really feel it/see it. Produces quite a muzzle flash.

Nothing else like it. The 3913 is called by many experts the best semiauto pistol Smith ever made. Here's my 3913NL, modified only by installing tritium sights:

I have two 3913s, one of which is a Ladysmith. I have no problems with the Ladysmith designation and sometimes carry it out of coolness.

These have to be some of the best made 9MM pistols ever. The triggers are fantastic, point of aim is nice, and their compactness and other nifty features make them something that S&W should continue to make.

You can't go wrong with the 3913. It is my favorite concealed carry weapon.

perfect 9mm

I have the 3913 and 6906. They are both very accurate for mini guns. I have just recently aquired the CS9. I cant wait to shoot it. I agree that the single stack is far superior for CCW. The 6906 still gets to ride with me sometimes. There is something about having twice as many rounds I guess. Too bad they are getting harder to find in good condition.

Oh don't get me wrong, the 6906 is staying put, I love the 6906. I just like the 3913 for shorts/tee-shirt days. Which here in Houston is every day!!

I have a little trouble with that bottom "line" on the 3913, where it slopes continually from the barrel to the grip; but, will keep an open mind.

3913

This is funny because for years I've been ranting and raving over my love for my S&W revolvers (m60pro, 442, 317, 34-1, 686 and I now have the opportunity and privilege to brag on my two new little S&W pistols (CS9 and 3913tsw). My introduction to Smith pistols is a result of my daughter surprising me with the little CS9 which was used and in excellent condition. After the first trip to the range with that little pistol I kept asking my self "why had I not ever tried out the Smith line of steel pistols before?????" The CS9 was fantastic and before long with the little pistol still on my mind I ran across a new 3913 tsw and couldn't resist the temptation and brought it home to keep the CS9 company. You guy's are to blame for that due to all your damn threads telling us what great pistols the 3913 is. And.... hell....your right about that too. Although I've only been shooting them for a short period of time I can say this in all honesty.....I think they're great and have nothing but praise for them so far after about 300 rounds each (Mag Tec, WWB, Blazers and two mags each of Critical Defense).
I also brought with me to the range a few other 9mm's to compare them to (Sig P6, P226, Walther P5, SA EMP and a HK P7M8) and these are all wonderful pistols and believe me when I tell you the two little S&W's took a back seat to none of them except of course the P7 or P7M8 and I'm not sure there is a 9mm pistol ever manufactured that can compare to those.
Anyway, keep those CS9 and 3913 threads coming because from my stand point "I don't get tired of reading or sharing stories about them" lol.
Regards,
JimK

I have a 3913 but mine dosen't have much of a bottom slope that the one's you guys are posting. Nevertheless, i love it, it's light and concealable!

If anyone has a grey grip they would like to trade for a black one, I'd love to do so. Otherwise, if anyone has a grey one they'd sell me, I'd like to buy it.

Thanks.

Roundout, You can buy them from S&W for about $18 + S/H.
