3913 problem?

Have to recommend Hogue grips..... wood checkered have a curved backstrap vs factory straight and a palm swell feel...... wood does not drag on the cover garment.

A 3913 NL l[ike the "ladysmith"w/o the "ladysmith"] w/ 7rd flush fit mag is my edc Concealed carry in a Sparks Summer Special or Executive Companion [rides a bit lower]

Is there way to convert from ambi safety to single side? Not that it bothers me a lot but I do not really have a use of it on the right. Less sticking out the better.

You need to find a single sided safety and fit it or have it fitted to your pistol. Timing the position of the lever and the point at which it drops the hammer is important.

Single side safeties from the "Value Line) 908 or CS9 guns will work. The problem is finding one for sale without having to buy an entire slide on Ebay or some other site.

I got a few that way, but they are almost always black, stainless are pretty rare. Of course 3913s came with both stainless and black versions.

Factory single side safeties are no longer available as far as I have been able to find out. I bought what might have been the last one in the wild from Cylinder & Slide several years ago.

I used a low-profile 669 single-sided safety body on my 3913. Numrich has them in stock but the price does somewhat reflect their scarcity. The blued 469 safety body is a little less expensive.

Was it a drop in or you had to fit it?

All three of my 3913/3914 pistols do this, with about half of my (20+) magazines.
I have never had a "malfunction" because of this. Some ammo does it more than others.
Nothing to worry about.

For those looking for single side safeties, there are a lot of slides for "Value Line" guns for sale on Ebay.

It's a bit sad to see so many 908, 909, 910, 915, and even CS9s being scrapped, but it's a good opportunity to pick up single side (black) safeties.

Most of those are still in the slide, so you're getting other parts as well. Some are so cheap, I'm tempted to grab a couple just in case.

Since there is no easy drop in optionnfor same model I will probdbly leave it as is. Its not really bothers me that much. Not yet at least.

I really think this pistol would have some success should SW decide to start making them again. I know I am not the only one who wants DA/SA carry pistol, not a stryker type. I do realize that it is probably impossible for SW to start making them again, tooling and etc is probably long gone...

Changing magazine springs made a difference -
it stopped happening at all on one magazine and almost gone on two other magazines.
I need to order more springs for remaining magazines. I replaced followers too just in case.

I thought new springs might help. I have a 6906 and a 6946 and several magazines, all purchased as used items. I replaced the recoil and magazine springs and I do not see any significant movement of the top round in the magazine after chambering a round.
