3rd Gen 5906/5946 question

I'd have to question the wisdom of that particular modification. If I'm grasping the mechanical intricacies of the gun in that condition, I believe that neither the disconnector nor the firing pin safety(if equipped)are active and that the hammer is following the slide as it closes. That may not allow the gun to fire but I wouldn't want to trust it. "Possibly" soft primers or a hitch in the hammer throw could allow the gun to fire more rounds than expected. Lots of potential for bad things happening then or shortly afterwards.

That mod works fine on a DA revolver but an auto is an entirely different animal and I know that hammer follow can cause a 1911 to say "Brrrraaapppp!".
