I'm looking at a used S&W 3rd gen 45 to purchase (4566). It has new Hogue grips installed, but the owner doesn't have the original plastic grips anymore. I actually prefer the factory plastic grips, and plan to buy a set from Brownells.

I know I need the grips, and the pin, is there anything else?

Thanks.

You may also need the plastic piece that joins the internals with the grip and the frame. When I changed out the Hogue factory CS9 grips with my Custom Delrin grips made by Gerald this piece needed to be changed too.I am sorry that I do not remember the proper name for it at this time.....God Bless.......Mike.

I also don't like the Hogue grips and think that the factory grips feel much better. Every set that I have replaced the only thing I needed was the grip it's self as the Hogue grips use the rest of the factory parts. This has been on both full size and compact 3rd gen guns in 9, 40 & 45. But not on any of the CS models.
