I just had an apithany, and it’s been right in front of me for a while.
I was looking at a post I had responded to and added a picture. The post came back to life and when I saw the picture I attached I was startled. It was a picture of my Loveless 41 Field Gun but I saw my Shorty 45.
I know Bob tried to get S&W to make his conversion a factory production but it never panned out. Now I’m wondering if S&W saw his idea, remembered it and later used it. I know the P.C. wasn’t even a dream in 1974, but the milling/lightening of the 3rd Gen P.C. compact slides sure looks like what Loveless was doing.
