If the gun is not malfunctioning I would leave it alone. The MIM parts they use do not wear out or go bad, in spite of what you might hear. S&W have expertise in metallurgy and properly molded MIM parts are the equal of forged parts. They are cheaper to make because there is no need for machining. They are molded to final "net" shape. This does not make them inferior. It makes them less expensive.Originally posted by champ:
