I looked, nothing there. No N....

For reference, my factory nickel 4" (S/N 33573) has the 'N' stamped on the right hand side of the frame under the grip.

For reference, my factory nickel 4" (S/N 33573) has the 'N' stamped on the right hand side of the frame under the grip.

My right side has a 'B' stamp.

Despite the 'B's' on the revolver I'm going with the Smith letter and will have it done in
Nickle. I have many blued revolvers, and since I'll never really know how it left the factory
Nickle it is.

It would be cheaper to buy a nicer gun . If I had that one I'd just shoot it like it is and be happy . Now days a proper Restoration will cost you more than buying a better condition gun .Just the correct grips will probably cost you $200 or more for a nice set.
