4" Smith & Wesson Model 65-4

Sure, here it is as it looked when I found it - wearing the factory 3-finger Uncle Mikes rubber combat grips.

Pretty gun for sure! As to grips, my approach is:

CC gun: Rubber, finger grooves, as sticky rubber as I can get
All others: Wood / Stag

I'm with you on that.
Though I did swap the 3-finger grips, for the more concealable, UM boot grips.

Come visit NATO-Finland. Here you can find S&W revolvers at great prices.
Here a gun license is expensive, a lot of guns are owned by old people.
It is difficult to get your first revolver or pistol license. First you have to practice at least 10 times with someone else's gun over the course of two years.

I see some importers import from Germany lots of great Colts and Smiths - see the import German marks. I have a couple of Colts and Smiths with German proof marks from the 70s.

Out of curiousity - how much would an excellent grade Model 29-2 or Model 27-2 cost in Finland? Just comparing notes on relative pricing there vs. here in US...

You mentioned it was hard to get your first reveolver / pistol licence - do you need to have a license for each gun you own there? If so, do you also have a limit? I know some countries do - I have a couple of cousins in Eastern Europe and they can own only 1 handgun each at a time, and have to apply if they were to change it. I think they can own 1 or 2 hunting weapons as well - one shot gun, one rifle, and the handgun permit is by far the hardest to get....

A couple of great guns. Congrats !! Yes the finish on the 65 is not original. That sure looks like a Tyler T. Take a pic for us of the inside of the T grip. There should be a number inside or a number /letter.

Yep, I finally took the grips off and it had the T 3 on the inside of the grip adapter, so they are Tyler's indeed! Thanks for the tip!

yep, it looked like someone had done some polishing, which I do not mind, to be frank - it is a SS gun. I've read I can get it back closer to original look but I actually like the SS a little shinier than the original (matte/satin) S&W finish.

I will take a pic next to an original S&W finish and will probably make the point even better for folks who may be wondering about the differences.

I took mine from 800 grit to 5k by hand and a final buff with mag polish. It’s nice to be able to do touch up on rough areas anytime.
