was at the range about a month ago and heard a .40 shield go kaboom. shooter had some minor cuts on his hand. that said, i know of several .40 glocks that went kaboom. for anyone who has one, there is another S&W issued recall on the shields. be careful and heed the recall...

Shot a bunch of my own cast handloads through my .40SW Shield this last weekend. Lots of fun. No kaboom.

And by another you of course mean a first recall as there has been no previous recall  only a safety alert to check the trigger safety bar to make sure it functioned correctly...

I'd also like to see a link to this supposed new recall as google shows nothing, not that I'm accusing you of pulling it out of your a@@ but ... I doubt there is one.

I have a recall on my Shield. 40.

I "recall" going to the range and it going BANG each and every time. Maybe it likes me or it like the way i maintain it. She was dirty this last time out, as i havent cleaned here in about 1200rds. But even dirty, she went bang.

I believe that two, maybe three of those claiming a kaboom have documented their claim, FWIW.

I wonder what the percentages of responses would be if someone posted a similar thread on the SA forums, or the Ruger forums, or Glocktalk, or the like.

If responses to internet forums scare you, maybe you should be at home, hiding under the bed.

150 rounds so far through my new Shield 40....100 165gr. WWB and 50 Remington 180gr......no FTE's-FTF's or bulged casings....I bought one anyway....my test fire date was 1/14
