Finally got around to shooting my shield 40 after it's return from S&W for the mag drop problem.
Put 300 rounds thru it, no mag drops, no FTF or FTE, or any problems with the functioning. It's very accurate and controllable.
I did notice the front roll pin drifting out of the right side about 3/16 ths of an inch. Was able to get the pin flush with the right side by banging the gun on the range shelf. 50 more rounds and the pin was back out. Was finally able to finish the 300 rounds, but had to knock pin back in place.
When I got home, I removed the pin, cleaned it and the hole. Coated the hole and pin with high strength locktite and put the pin back in. Hopefully the pin will stay put
Other than the pin problem, I was very pleased with the performance of the 40 shield.
