I have one of the 100 or so late model 645s built up with4506 parts. It has 4506 ambit safety and other 4506 upgrades on a 645 platform! It is a big honking hunk of steel that will eat whatever you feed it including empty castles!

Great pistol. I lament the passing of the third gen guns and simply do not like the MP line-up. I remember when the third gens came out, they generated a great deal of excitement. They were a marked improvement over second gen guns in terms of ergonomics and trigger pull.

I carried a 4506 as an authorized duty weapon and its heft was reassuring. Since these guns are no longer being supported by SW, I'd grab spare parts to keep the 645 running for a long time. Springs, maybe an extractor, etc.

The grips came on the gun. I think they came from S&W school. They don't have medalions.
