I picked up a 17-3 late last week and it has the .500 hammer and what I assume is a .400 serrated trigger. I measured the width of the trigger and it comes in a right about .500 when checked with calipers. Is this a .400 Target trigger?

I'm not a big fan of this trigger as it really messes with my DA pull. It might be great for SA, but the serrations drag. I have a 10-6 with a .265 serrated trigger and a 13-3 with a .312 smooth trigger and even through the 10-6 is a lighter smoother pull I much prefer the .312 smooth. I was thinking of swapping out a .312 smooth in the 17-3 but none of the normal sources have one in stock. Cost wise I might just be better off taking the serrations off of the factory trigger.

Hmm I did not know there was a .500 trigger. Guess I learned something new today

colt_saa - Thanks for the offer but I would hate to break up a TTT.

Thanks for the responses.

.500 triggers were used until 1979 when they were reduced to .400 to eliminate concern of unintentional discharge due to the trigger being wider than the triggerguard.

I may have something to trade you with. I love wide serrated triggers. Problem is I do not know what will work with what. Would a trigger off a 19-5 work? Are you only looking for smooth? PM me if you are interested.
