Chestnut Ridge????? Been looking at that one for the last couple of days....was ready to pull the trigger....now it's gone!!! Like the saying goes...."think long, thing wrong".
Is it a standard single-stack 4013 or a double-stack TSW? Rail or no rail? Does it have the box and paperwork with it? How many magazines? If it is a standard 4013 in really good shape with box, paperwork, and at least 2 magazines, it might be priced about right. I paid $515 for a NIB 4013TSW without the rail. You should enjoy yours for many years, they are great guns.
Sounds very fair to me, as long as it's in good shape. I was ready to pull the trigger on a 4013TSW for $479, but like some of the other guys here, I waited a little too long and next time it was gone. I see an upward swing in all metal auto pistols. Maybe the honeymoon is over with the plastic handguns. I know I sold my M&P40 and went back to a 4003.
Chestnut ridge had a TSW non railed with box, papers, mags....very clean looking.....$425.00. I thought you might have been the lucky one that got to it before me.
no it is at a LGS near me.he bought several guns from a sheriffs dept.they needed money to buy gear for new officers and to replace worn gear.he has two taurus pt92 I think the 92 9mm copies for $275. someone got the 65 before I got down there and the colt diamond back 38spl.
It is certainly within negotiating range. I paid just a few dollars more (incl. shipping) for mine. It was used but very good condition, and had 3 mags +orig box.
Good luck.
FWIW, I've owned two 4013 TSWs and sold them in favor of the single stack 4013. For my purposes, it's the better pistol. It conceals better than the TSW and it only gives up one round in capacity (if my memory hasn't gone bad). Mine have been very accurate as well.
It still sounds like a solid carry gun. I would do it, if you have the expendable funds right now. Maybe the guy would take less. It never hurts to try. The 40's do seem to go for more than the compact 9's. I think $400 would still be in the right ballpark. Good luck.
My first buy was the 40TSW no rail. Heck it was even my second buy (from a member who has since bought another) I wont ever sell this one.
Someone mentioned the single stack. This is why I wouldnt get one (except to have a collection of 4013's) as I prefer the fatter grip of the TSW double stack. I paid i believe 398+tax, out the door it came to something like 422.
So if the thinner single stack fits your hand, and ya got the cash, get it, you'll not regret it... and WE wanna see pictures of it.
$425 is very decent price in my area. I recently paid $525 for LNIB TSW (non-rail) with 3 mags, night sights and box. It's the first one I have seen for sale in many years.
