I do love the 41 mag, but fail to see how one can knock the 10mm in comparison. Maybe if all you're considering is revolvers, I can see that. No reason to give up either!
Nor the 38 Supers, or the 16 gauges. In fact, I suppose my safe looks like the misfit toy room from that old Christmas movie! There's certainly no Glocks in there.
And, I probably don't fit in much better than the firearms I keep. But they're good company.
I do not own any 10mm, partly because most of pre-lock model 610s I run into have un-fluted cylinders and I am not a fan of those. I also do not own any 1911s either, which is where I believe the 10mm belongs in a pistol.
But I too subscribe to the misfit strategy, having collected a rifle in just about every 35 caliber available (my personal looney-ism) and a few 16 gauges. Hmm, but no 38 supers yet.................... It's clear I have some work to do to fluff out my misfit collection!![]()
I presently have no 58 or 57 S&W. Don't particularly want a 41mag. Why? They are like a 16g shotgun. Not enough smaller than 12g or bigger than a 20g to fool with. Same with 41mag in relation to 44mag & 357 mag. Also bullet and ammo choices are a lot fewer than 44s.
The 41magnum is dying, it just doesn't know how to depart gracefully.
There is nothing wrong with a 16g or 41mg. I'm saying that unless you get one for free, why go with the odd balls. On the other side of things I could never figure out why 38Super didn't catch on here in USA. More potent than 38sp or 9mm. The 40S&W is gasping and 10mm is close behind.
One of the early gun writers said, there is no bad cartridges only bad guns.
Henrys in 41 sell like hotcakes. The 41 mag isn't dying or obsolete yet even though the articles in f&s say that. The new ammo sells out really fast for a dying caliber. When we get bored with the 44/357 there's the 41 mag.
Most of us with old 29s have reserved manners and allow the 41mag fans to beat their gums.
A Colt SAA in .41 Mag would be a thing of beauty.
Here's a 41 Mag that many people have never seen!

I had often thought I wanted a revolver in 38-40 (38WCF) . One day I was looking at my Ruger NM Blackhawk in 41 magnum and suddenly realized I was pretty close already . The 38-40 shoots a cast bullet of .401 in diameter . The 41 is .410 , so only .009 difference . The 38-40 shoots a cast bullet of 180 gr . The 41 magnum can shoot a 180 gr cast bullet also . I loaded up some cast 210 gr ( all that I had at the time ) over a powder charge of Accurate #2 . I don't have a chronograph but I'm sure the ballistics was pretty close to the 38-40 . The accuracy was fantastic and they sure smacked the steel plates . It was a fun experiment , one to do again . Regards Paul
