44 Magnum gas check bulletsw/o G.C.

I hava 6 gang Lee .44 Mag. mold that they say you can use with out gas checks for low velocity loads. I also have a 245 Gr. Lyman gas check mold in .44 Mag. Anyone tried using them without gas ckecks?

They'll shoot just fine without the GC, but how are you going to lube and size them?

I have a sizer lube with .430 sizing dies.

But without the GC being installed, the lube pressure will force the lube under the bullet and it will just pop out of the sizer die.

It's going to make a mess.

With either a Lyman or Saeco lubrisizer, I have successfully lubed gas check designed boolits without the check. The secret is to adjust the seating depth of the sizer so that not much lube enters the shank area and MOST importantly, use a harder lube such as Lars Red or Thompson's Blue Angel.
