I've never owned a suppressor but have other C3 stuff. Familiar with the process. My question is what to hang off the end of a new Marlin 1894 SBL with 5/8" x 24 threads? I've never really looked at suppressors before and I'm not sure where to even start. There's so many options now! I reload and would plan to run anything from 200gr bunny-fart loads to 300gr ~1000fps. Would love to hear any suppressor suggestions for this application, if you're willing to share.

I don't know what your plans are for using the rifle but the biggest problem I have with a suppressor on a rifle is the weight (typically a pound or so) hanging out on the end of even a 16 inch barrel makes shooting offhand a pretty good trick. And the older suppressors, like mine anyway, add another six inches or more to that nice short carbine barrel.

If I were buying another, and I'm thinking about it, it would be one of those ultralight versions made of titanium and the shortest one available. I thought a suppressed 300 BLK or 308 would be just the ticket for Texas wild hogs but they hear even the subsonic rounds so I shoot high velocity for the better effect on game. The benefit of the suppressor is I don't have to worry about where I left my ear plugs. Another factor is that I use a pistol length barrel on my 300 BLK and without the suppressor the blast is unpleasant and there's not much to hang on to without a suppressor attached.

I don't think I'd put one on a lever gun but folks are doing it, probably for good reasons. Good luck.

Honestly, there is no purpose behind it. Just indulging in a hobby. The rifle comes with 5/8 x 24 threads, I have a reloading bench to make all kinds of loads, so I figure it’s time for me to mess with suppressors a bit.
