The good Lord God must have a high opinion of S&W revolvers because by His grace I blundered into a nice NIB 21-4 in .44 Special. I figure for practice, etc., I'll be shooting handloads using some sort of mid-range loading using either 200gr. or 240 gr. SWC. I am currently shooting some Winchester Cowboy Action Loads which have a 240 gr. flat nosed bullet. I don't know what is the velocity, but the loads impact a little higher that I would like at 20 yds. I'd prefer for POA to = POI at 20 or maybe even 25 yds. With the retro. fixed sights, if I must choose, I'd rather HD/SD type ammo zero correctly. Any ideas on what .44 Special factory loads have given good results? I'd like to use this 21 for HD and carry in the woods/fields. Suggestions/Observations appreciated. Thanks sincerely.

If 240gr bullets are hitting a little high, you will want to try a 200 gr bullet. That should get you closer to POA/POI.

I read these were dialed in for 200 gr. Mine shoots well with 200's.
