Checked one out yesterday at the local GS and the ratchet/extractor was not blued at all, it was stainless and not blued like the rest of the gun. Any reason this is like this and are all of the 442 PRO J frames like this or what? It looked odd to me so I opted for the standard 442. I still like the PRO and may soon get one but was curious as to why this part of the gun was not blued like the rest of the cylinder?

Does any of you guys that have them have stainless colored ratchets or blued? It just looked weird to me like the gun was unfinished?????

Honestly I never noticed. It seems ok.
Doesn't bother me.

yep, looks like that. I thought something was wrong with it. Guess it is what they are doing with them. Must of had left over ratchets from when they had the 642PC guns done is all I can think of and did not feel like bluing them to match the 442's cylinder. Just a thought...

I think it looks cool!

agreed, just thought something was just miss
matched together with that particular one. I may go back and get it too now that I know...

Reference the 442 Pro Series revolvers, #178041, the stainless steel extractor does not require a PVD coating for protection from oxidation.

thanks for the info, i was just wondering if it was a put together with left over parts gun since it was not blued like a standard 442. didnt know if the moon clip cut had anything to do with it.

so since I found out that it was gtg, I went and got it. Looking forward to testing it out. Thanks for all of the help guys...

I got a 442 "Pro" (not labeled as such). Great little gun. Love the positive extraction on my loaded rounds. It's my backup at work.
