The Centennial syle j frames are extremely popular and easy to carry.
After a state IDPA match, 7 of us were having dinner, and the subject turned to carry guns. All of us had our 442/642 with us, even though 5 of the 7 shot semi-autos in competition that day.
Gret for hot weather carry and those quick trips.

Love my 642 (stainless color version of 442). One of the few guns I would never sell or trade. The 5 shot limit does bother me from time to time, but I carry 2-3 Bianchi speed strips with me and practice reloading it often. At the same time I can shoot it will enough and from a reasonable enough distance that I feel very capable in my ability to hit whom and where I need to hit. And it carries as easy as a .25 auto.

The 442 is my daily carry gun - "The constant companion of my walks" in Thomas Jefferson's prose. Lightweight, durable, takes +P rounds. What's not to like?

I've got one, and carry it regularly. You'll probably never need more then five rounds in a shtf situation. As mentioned though, I always carry either speed strips or a speedloader.

I love my 442. It does have more kick than the stainless version and is somewhat lighter. My wife prefers her 1974 model 60 with bobbed hammer. The slight premium in weight yields lower recoil.
That being said, these guns need your constant practice to be effective. The triggers are very heavy and these are not target weapons. But, they will save your life in a pinch.

I sold this one 'cause I couldn't live with the lock - the pistol, not the knife. (I promise it really was black, not green; must be my uber-expensive camera picking up the color of the background )

I am definitely holding out hope for finding a non-lock version - someday, great little carry gun.

Oh, and welcome to the forum.

:D

Hi Mark and Welcome!

As with many here, I've carried a variety of handguns (mainly revolvers) over the years and my current favorite is the model 442.

I find that it carries well in the pocket or on the hip.

As a side note; I get the most accurate results with Federal Hydra-Shoks, in 129 grain JHP's.

Another EDC gun.

Nice pic, Iggy. I hope you don't mind I'm stealing it for my own collection. I've GOT to get mine upgraded to the CT grips!
NICE!

IS THERE a MORE perfect carry gun, I mean really?:D
Perhaps the thing I like the most is right there where it says "Made in USA".

thanks to everyone for the reply i will go and by me a nice 442 dor my new ccw thank to all

I carry 3 guns, not at once, but they are a Taurus PT1911 AR with 8+1, a SW99 in .40 12+1, or my 638 in .38 Spl with 5, it depends on the dress and what you are doing that day as well as where you are going, but above all go with what you are comfortable with, however i would suggest at least a handy speedloader or two
