45 Shield holster

Picked up a Shield 45 today... While waiting for the B\G check (5 minutes) I looked for a holster. They didn't have a DeSantis Scabbard with the thumb retention strap for the Shield 45. The Salesperson said "why not grab the DeSantis for the 9mm and give it a try". Sure enough the 45 fit. When I tried my 9mm holster when I got home it fit fantastic. It's a little snug, but so was the 9 when I first tried it.

Also try the Jel Tech Kydex IWB. Have the for my9mm SHield and Ruger. (bought 8 form JT so far ,for my son and friends) He now has the Shield 45

I got an e-mail from Jel Tech today saying they are now producing a holster for the 45 Shield in 15 degree cant. They will have 0 degree cant soon. For $26 including shipping, you can't go wrong.

Any soft or leather holster for the 9/40 will work with the 45.........it can stretch.
Kydex holsters for the 9/40 will not work with the 45......it can't stretch and adapt. But, if you put a little heat to it you can make it work just fine.

Simply Rugged Holsters is also making rigs for the Shield 45 now. Rob sent me an email saying he has a 45 Shield in hand to build from, just order for the standard Shield and specify the 45 version. He'll be updating the firearm selector on the web site soon.

I just tried putting my new Shield .45 in my Shield .40 holster, and what do you know.. It fit perfectly!!!
