Hi all,
A question, has anyone ever seen an N frame gun specifically marked for .450 Eley caliber, or was this a substitute cartridge for .455s?
Thanks, Ken

Per Cartridges of the World, the British military service cartridge known as the "450 Revolver/450 Adams" became a popular commercial caliber and "... both Colt and Smith & Wesson chambered revolvers for it. ... The 450 can be fired in any 455 Webley revolver, and it was often used as a light target load. ... Ammunition can be made from cut off 455 Webley cases."

I have never seen one marked "450 Eley", but from the above I would not doubt that some do exist.

I just helped a friend sell anestate and it included a 6 1/2" N frame marked .455 Eley. It had been bored out to accept .45 Colt and parkerized. SN 24051

Thanks to both of you. In a disgusting number of years of shooting, collecting, and just general gun enthusiasm, an Adams revolver is the only thing I have seen so marked. Just wondered if mine was a sheltered life and thought surely someone had seen our brand marked that way.
