Gotta love the first of the third gens! I have no idea why but the first time I saw Sonny Crocket pull his out and point it at a bad guy I was hooked. I think it's the trigger guard that gets me going. Once Smith rounded it on the later versions they just seemed to lose something.

I just got a 645 in trade. Hell of a shooter. Mine has the wooden panels as does this pix. Who made these? S&W Custom Shop?

Thanks,

It did not come with the grips in the photos, it had the correct curved backstrap grips when I bought it. It also had Millett adjustable sights but I did not want them so it now has what it should have.

I don't care what anybody says, that hooked trigger guard MAKES the gun, absolutely beautiful!

When they eliminated that feature in the 4506-1 the guns really lost something IMO.

Novalty, you are forgiven for bringing back the dead. This gives me a chance to show my 4566TSW Kentucky State Police the was never issued or adopted by Kentucky. It is a decocker only.

I notice some subtle differences.
Round, vs. squared off trigger guards??

and

Grips ... Screwed on grips, and pinned real low, and pinned a bit higher.

How are they differentiated??
