4506/645. Magazines

I looked through many of the other magazine threads and found much about the followers, but not about my fit problem. I have all four types of magazines, but while working with my 645 I found that the one orange follower mag does not lock into The gun. Is this normal? I though that the orange follower guys were basically the same as the original 645 mags but with the newer follower. Thanks as always

The original Model 645 magazines have a metal baseplate and metal follower. The orange plastic followers came second.

I can't see the follower keeping the magazine from locking into place. Try it with the slide locked back.

Thanks for the response. My orange follower mag looks the same as my original 645 mags, but has a rubber pad on the bottom. I don't recall if I tried the mag with the slide locked back or not. Will try again and report.

I had both steel and orange plastic followers in my magazines when I had my 645 and they worked just fine. The mags did have the steel base plates however.

Ok, here is the latest. This one magazine (orange follower, rubber base pad) has mag Catch slots on both sides of the body. I see none other mags in my collection like that. It will not lock in the gun regardless of the slide position. Did all this generation of mags have dual slots?

The dual slot, did not come about till the introduction of the 4506.
