4506 Replacement Barrels

Since I had heard that Smith & Wesson was no longer making parts for the 4506, I called and ordered a replacement barrel just to have in case. Originally I was told they were in stock, but after placing the order I received a call that the inventory was wrong and there were none to be had, nor would they be made again.

Does anybody know of a private source for a third generation 4506 barrel? Mine was made in 1997.

Brownells list the R3 barrels w/.486" wide hood as in stock. There is also Gun Parts Corp. and Jack First Gun Parts that may have one in stock. Your factory barrel should be good for 100,000rds. before needing replaced.
