4513TSW mag adapter. Any interest?

I'm trying to guage interest in an adapter, or sleeve, to enable those of us with early 6-round mag variant 4513TSW's to use the later 7-round mags without having the gap between the bottom of the grip and the mag base.

I know if I could find some, I'd buy at least 5, if not more.

So how many others out there would be wanting something like this?

Any ideas on how to accomplish it? I'd like it to be hard plastic or polymer with a rounded face like the original 6-round mag base plate. Black in color. Regards 18DAI

I only use the newer 7-rd 4513 mags as occasional spares for my older 4513, with the standard 6-rd mag carried in the holstered gun. I have enough of the 6-rd mags to last for some years.

That being the case, I'd not have much interest in an extender sleeve for the 7-rd mags, myself. Not having support for my little finger doesn't bother me.

Luck to you, though. I've no doubt they'd sell to a number of the S&W enthusiasts.

There was a guy selling a safety removal kit or something for S&W's . Maybe just for the M&P22 it was...

Anyway he's on this forum. He is printing parts for his kit. We could ask him to print out an adapter for 7 round mags.

I'd want the adapter to fit really nice, and fill in the whole bottom of the gun so the grip looks like it is longer.

I have no idea how you program a 3D printer and how much work it takes, but that would be a great way to get just a few units.

I don't own one of the older 4513s so no real interest for myself however I do think it's an intriguing idea. Methinks 3D printing would be the best & most cost effective way to go. Just need to find someone who's willing & has the equipment. My understanding is you simply build the 3 dimensional model on your desktop PC with the appropriate CAD software incorporating whatever changes you like then send it to the printer in much the same manner as you'd type & print a Word document.

No need for machining complex steel molds like with injection molding. Just send the CAD file to the printer. If it's not right you tweak the file a bit and print it again instead of modifying or making a new mold. The most difficult part is creating the 3D computer model of the part you want. One of these days I'll get a printer to play with. And I'm fortunate that my better half is pretty handy with AutoCAD

I found the guy and emailed him. His handle is Joblin and he hasn't posted here for a month.

The website he was selling his M&P22 safety plugs through is kind of defunct and he is selling websites now.

Hey guys. I am the one with the 3D printer. I'd be happy to try to mock something up with a 3D program. Only issue is I don't have the gun, or the mags. I would need to get my hands on one for anywhere from a week to a month while I try mocking something up to fit. Can't promise I can make something, but it's worth a shot?

If enough people are interested, and someone close to Jacksonville, FL has the 4513 they could lend to me, I can try my best.
